I had an order for some sugar cookies for a wedding recently. The bride wanted something sweet to place in welcome boxes for all of her out of town guests and my friend Kristen asked me to make some for her. After going back and forth a bit, we decided to do packages that contained L's and W's for the bride and groom's names.
The L's were done in white with black polka dots and the W's were done in black with white polka dots. It took me a little bit of experimenting before finally figuring out the best method. I decided to flood each cookie and then use a toothpick to drip the coordinating color into the flood. Yes, it was a lot of work, but the results were worth it.
I finished them off by wrapping them in clear cello bags and tying them with black and white polka dotted ribbon. They were so cute and the bride was thrilled. Congratulations to the happy couple...may you have many years of bliss!
Happy Baking,
